To answer this question we probably have to start with, why Portugal? During COVID, Sarah-Louise escaped to her mum and step-father in the south of Portugal. It was also one of the few places that welcomed Jonathan, allowing us to see each other during those challenging times. Over the years, we've both explored various parts of Portugal and have always enjoyed the incredibly welcoming and friendly spirit of the Portuguese people, not to mention their delicious food and historic landscapes.

Now, why the Douro Valley specifically? We have Jonathan to thank for this! His love for water (which Sarah-Louise has definitely come to share!) drew his attention to the Douro Valley, near Porto. We decided to take a trip to explore, and instantly fell in love with the breathtaking scenery and the incredibly relaxing feeling that comes from being surrounded by nature, all while sipping on wine and enjoying incredible food. We even became morning people, waking up to the sunrise over the river outside our window and later enjoying the sunset. We feel truly at peace in this place, cherishing the slow rhythm and simple joys of life that we often overlook in our busy daily routines.
